For Today...March 30th

Outside my Window...the sun is peaking through the storm clouds.  March is going out like a lion at this point!

I am thinking...home is a great place to be.

I am thankful...we had a safe and successful road trip.

I am going...to take Keaton to Kindergarten early today because they are going to see the play Peter Pan at Wasatch Jr.

From the kitchen this week...wanting to try some new recipes this week from some of my favorite blogs.  I'll let you know how they turn out.

I am wearing...the same clothes I have had on since yesterday.

I am reading...Blink by Malcolm Gladwell

I am hoping...my niece Julia has a Happy 30th birthday tomorrow!

I am creating...a grocery list for all the new recipes.

I am hearing...Keaton watching cartoons.

Around the house...unpacking the suitcases and washing dirty laundry.

One of my new favorite things...keeping point stats on Jacek's basketball games.  I loved it.

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week...no soccer practice today because of the snow.  Tomorrow I go on a field trip to the Natural History Museum with Keaton's class.  Wednesday, Keaton and I both have dentist appts. (fun), Thursday co-op meeting, Friday Jazz game for Keaton and Cory and Saturday we are going to have a little party at our house.  Cory's boss from Atlanta and IBM are in town for Cory Wednesday and Thursday, so we probably won't see much of him those two days.

I was looking through some pictures of Asia from last year about this time when we first got her and I couldn't believe how dark she looked then compared to now.  She looks like a completely different dog.

For Today...March 23rd

Outside my Window...it's snowing really hard right now.  :(

I am thinking...I like spring better than winter.

I am thankful...Jacek gets to play on the traveling basketball team.  I think it will be great experience for the team.

I am going...to clean out, wash and vacuum my car this week for our road trip to Boise this weekend.

From the kitchen this week...Pinto Beans, Rice and Corn Muffins tonight.  Ham Fried Rice and Spaghetti later on in the week.  I really only have four dinners this week.

I am wearing...my green striped pajamas.

I am reading...Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell

I am hoping...Pump N Run mixes the Red and White teams around to make two really strong Black and Silver teams for the tournament.

I am creating...a photo book for my niece Julia for her 30th birthday next week.

I am hearing...Grandma moving around upstairs and Keaton sniffing.

Around the house...putting laundry away and packing for our Boise trip.

Two of my favorite things...a four day school week.  The kids have Friday off this week which is convenient for leaving on our Boise trip.  And baby feet!

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week...Keaton has two play dates this week, clean out my car, asia haircut, pump n run practice on Tuesday and Wednesday, dentist appt, Bunco on Wednesday night, hair appt. on Thursday and then Boise this weekend.

I hosted a baby shower for my niece-in-law Chelsie and my great niece Ms. Addie and it was so much fun.  I haven't been to a baby shower, let alone hosted a baby shower, for years.  I loved how my friend Brittany made everything come together from the homemade pastries..

The table was beautiful and symmetrical!  I loved that!

I think Ms. Addie looks a lot like her dad and her Grandma Jensen. 

She got a lot of attention...

and some pretty cute things from her shower.

I gave her that cute pink bib.  Again, Brittany saved the day with that delightful find from Etsy.  She also got a pink and brown high chair!  

All that pink makes me want a baby girl!  Not really, but they have such cute, cute things for girls!

I even got to take some pictures of her precious baby feet...

For Today...March 16th

Outside my Window...it's warming up.  Spring is in the air!

I am thinking...about all the things I need to do for St. Patrick's Day tomorrow.

I am thankful...my mom is coming this week for Kindergarten Grandparent's Day.

I am going...to start walking every weekday with Ruth again!  I'm also going to lunch with the girls today.

From the kitchen this week...Ham Fried Rice, Chicken Noodle Soup, Waffles for Dinner.  Green Guacamole and Tacos for St. Patrick's Day.  Green doughnuts from the store.  Green butter, milk, and juice.

I am wearing...my green striped pajamas.

I am hoping...the Leprechaun doesn't make too big of mess tomorrow!

I am creating...little green footprints.

I am hearing...the sound of silence.

Around the house...decorating the table for St. Patrick's Day.

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week...walking every day this week, lunch at Red Butte Cafe, book club tonight at the Jitterbug Coffee House, boys watching the Red Pump N Run team play tonight, co-op day tomorrow in conjunction with St. Patrick's Day celebration, watch Park City Miners and Wasatch Warriors play basketball.  Wednesday lunch date with my dear friend Cynthia.  Keaton's cavity filling appt. on Thursday.  Grandma coming and we're going to a viewing for one of her cousins and then out to dinner that night.  Jana appt. Friday and Grandparent's Day in Kindergarten and Jacek skiing after school.  My sister Deb is coming and we're having Chelsie's baby shower on Saturday.  Keaton has a birthday party Saturday afternoon and Pump N Run practice.  Whew!  I'm tired already!

For Today...March 9th

Outside my Window...it's cloudy again and going to snow later this morning.

I am thinking...the first few days of getting used to daylight saving time is tough.

I am thankful...I have an alarm clock on my phone or I would never have got up this morning!

I am going...to have a delightful challenge this morning convincing Keaton that he really does want to go to school today and no, it's not an option to stay home.

From the kitchen this week...Chicken Fried Steak sounds good and maybe Sandra's yummy chicken with rice recipe.  Breakfast for dinner one night too!

I am wearing...my green striped pajamas and blue snowflake robe.

I am reading...The Enchantress of Florence for book club.

I am hoping...Wasatch Jr. High wins their semi-final game tomorrow against Churchill!

I am creating...Twitter and Facebook comments almost on a daily basis.  I love it!  You can click on my  Twitter Updates in the lower left hand corner of my blog page.

I am hearing...Cory listening in a news report on his computer, Keaton playing his DS game and Asia attacking one of her many toys.

Around the house...getting ready for the cleaning crew tomorrow.  I already tackled the very messy playroom on Saturday night, so I'm feeling ahead of the game already.

One of my favorite things...watching back to back episodes of 24 with Cory.

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week...Semi-final game for Jr. High and three Pump N Run games for the State Tourney this week.  Cleaning crew comes tomorrow and visiting teaching Wednesday afternoon.  No practices this week because of all the games.  It's really a light week for activities.  That will be nice!

A picture thought I would like to share

I drove by this old Snelgrove Ice Cream shop yesterday on my way to meet Debbie for breakfast.  I have so many fond memories of Snelgroves.  When I was a kid and growing up, we would always go to Snelgroves for ice cream on our trips out to Salt Lake.  This place has particular memories of Jacek when he was in preschool.  He had a little buddy that lived up the street from here and after his playdates, he and I would go and get a cup of soup and an ice cream cone.  I miss Snelgroves Ice Cream and I don't think I will ever get over it!
