happy 20th anniversary

We have been married for 20 years and I love him more and more each day.  I look at this picture and see two very young people crazy in love with each other and having no idea the journey they would take together.  The roads we have been on and the choices we've made have definitely brought us to this point in our lives.  We are indeed blessed to be here today and have this stable and united relationship with two incredible sons that made this journey even sweeter.

He is incredibly thoughtful and kind. 

He is an amazing father.

He loves all of my family as if they were his own.

He is a genius computer geek.

He listens.

He coaches.

He sends and brings me flowers for no reason, except to say "I Love You".

He loves sports.

He can fix almost anything.

He loves me as much or more today as he did when we were 14.

I love you so much and am so grateful for our life together.  We make a great team and I can't wait for the next set of 20 years together.  And the next set.  And the next. Forever.

baking and creating

 I baked cinnamon rolls this year for my neighbor gifts.  The recipe is here.

I surprised Keaton by having Liza come over this afternoon.  He loved every minute of it.

Jacek hung low today after not feeling 100% yesterday.

Asia was happy, happy, happy to be home after our weekend excursion to Park City.

And everyone will be sad to see this little guy go back to the north pole.  Tomorrow is his last day to come before the big fellow makes his annual visit.

monday musings

For Today...December 8th

Outside my Window...it's finally snowing!  Yay!  

I am thinking...about my Author Study activity for Kindergarten tomorrow.

I am thankful...for the Christmas season and getting together as family and friends to celebrate.

I am going...to stay home most of the day.  Keaton isn't feeling 100%, so we're ditching school.  Cory will come home at 2:45 so I can go watch Jacek wrestle at 3:00.

From the kitchen this week...chicken lo mein noodles, enchiladas, pizza and my sister and I's favorite Christmas cookies because she's coming to town in three more days!

I am wearing...black pants, red snowflake turtleneck with my black snowflake vest.

I am reading...nothing at the present moment.

I am hoping...to get all of my Christmas cards in the mail this week.

I am creating...packaging for all my friend and neighbor gifts.

I am hearing...Keaton watching cartoons.

Around the house...laundry, decorating and getting ready for the cleaning people on Friday.

One of my favorite things...Papa Murphy's Thin Crust DeLite Pizza.  I think that's what we'll have for dinner tonight.

Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week...Wrestling, basketball practices, teaching tomorrow, basketball game on Wednesday, Bunco, Lunch with the ladies, my sister Jackie comes on Thursday, cleaning crew on Friday and my parents might come this weekend too!  We're going see Santa on Saturday.  Busy, busy week!

kindergarten nutcracker field trip

Yesterday Keaton and I went on a date to the Nutcracker Ballet.  We went with 21 other 5 and 6 year olds and we had the best time.  We got all dressed up too.  Keaton took a shower and I got out his good clothes that he's never worn before and he got dressed.  I gushed about how handsome he looked and made a big deal about his " new" clothes that were Jacek's when he was 6 years old.  I left him in the bathroom as he was combing his hair and brushing his teeth.  He came downstairs with a frown on his face and said, "I don't look handsome, I look dumb!  I want to wear my cool clothes."  He was very serious and very distraught that I was making him look "uncool".  Very funny!

The kids did really well, considering the ballet was a little long- 2 hours.  They were a little restless at the end, but it was worth it to see Santa Clause come out from behind the curtain.  That was their favorite part.

I'm not sure why there was "girl" and "boy" picture taken and not a class picture.  I wasn't in charge! I wanted to have someone take a picture of Keaton and I together, but it didn't happen.  What little time we did have before the performance was eaten up by the above photos and it was chilly outside. The kids had had it after the ballet, so we rushed back to the school.  I took this one of us when we got home.  It was the best I could do.

new team

Tonight was the first game for the new team.  It was a little weird not knowing most of the kids' names. It was hard not to see everyone from the old team.  It was different! They were down most of the first half, but then kicked it into gear in the 3rd quarter and won by 5 or 6 points in the end.

It was really hard for the coach to be a spectator and not the coach anymore.  :(

He loves the new team, so it's all good!
