My dear friend, Irene, from jr. high/high school/college days came to our house for a visit. They come to Utah every February for a family reunion. This year we went up to Snowbird for dinner and a visit on Valentine's Day. They had a feast of Mexican food and fed about thirty people, including us. Then Cory and the boys went swimming in the outdoor pool with Jonathon and his crew. Good memories for my kids. We've been going up to see them regularly for several years. This year, after the first week, Jonathon went back to Connecticut, their oldest son Adam went back to BYU and Irene, with her remaining three kids, went to Vernal. On the last night of their trip, they came to stay with me. It was great to have them stay and the kids played so well together. At one point, I went down to video the kids, and I found Jacek and Eric (15) playing Guitar Hero with the guitars behind their heads. It was hysterical to watch them. I got it on video and if I knew how to convert it to YouTube, I'd show ya'.
I love these people. They have the best kids. I wish we lived closer, but, as Irene put it, "If we want to lose touch, I could move back." At least we're guaranteed two visits a year with them. Thanks for coming Irene, Eric, Alyssa and Sophie and come back soon.
We had the opportunity to use a couple of nights in our new Exclusive Resorts in Deer Valley this weekend. It was fabulous. My mom and dad took Keaton, Eli and I up on Friday evening. My friend Darlene and her son Skylar came that night too. Jacek didn't want to go up because his friends couldn't go up that night and Cory had to work.
Saturday, the weather was BEAUTIFUL!!! The sun was shining and with all the new snow, it was a winter wonderland.
We had a great time in the hot tub and just hanging out. It felt like we were in our own snow cave while in the hot tub. The kids loved it. Saturday night, Paul, Darlene, Cory and I got in the hot tub late, about 11:30 p.m. The wind was blowing and snow crystals clung to our hair, but it was a toasty 103 degrees under the water.
Speaking of snow caves, Cory took these photos Saturday afternoon above our balcony. I loved the swirled arch the snow made from the roof tops.
The DeBry's and the Mulder's all came on Saturday evening and we cooked a great dinner of pesto pasta, salmon, chicken, flank steak and veggies and fruit. I didn't take a lot of pictures after Saturday afternoon. But I got some great ones of the little ones.
They played Gameboys, Pokemon and other imaginative games all weekend. I love how well they play together. They were teasing me on this picture.
I love the close up of their feet and the blurriness in the background of their faces.
This was my favorite of the whole weekend. Keaton and Eli each got a bouncy ball from Sharon's cafe Friday morning when we went to breakfast. I love that Keaton's holding it in this photo.
This one is my second favorite. Eli is so photogenic. He never takes a bad picture and I know because I have taken hundreds of pictures of him. :)
My favorite part of the condo:
My favorite part of the weekend:
having our family and friends there.
Thanks Grandpa, Grandpa, Sandra, Jon, Eric, Peter, Eli, Darlene, Paul, Skylar and Tristan for coming on our big adventure.
